ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Theft

‰Police are investigating the thefts of three coin-operated newspaper racks reported over the weekend.

A carrier for the Lexington Herald-Leader reported Saturday and Sunday racks valued at $650 each had been removed from locations in the 1900 block of 29th Street and the 2900 block of Blackburn Avenue.

Also, The Independent on Friday reported the theft of a rack from a location in the 2800 block of Blackburn. The rack had a listed value of $585.

‰A man living in the 4200 block of Earl Street on Monday reported the theft of recordings and computer equipment with a total value of $430.

‰A Greenup woman reported Sunday $180 cash was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at Wal-Mart.

‰A man living in the 4700 block of Canterbury Court reported Saturday an electronic item valued at $150 was stolen from his vehicle.

‰A resident of the 5000 block of Robin Hood Drive on Saturday reported the theft of computer equipment and cash with a total value of $669 had been stolen from his vehicle.

Burglary

‰A woman living in the 4000 block of Hart Street reported Monday jewelry valued at $450.25 was stolen in a burglary at her residence.

‰Dark Wings, 514 29th St., reported Sunday someone broke in and stole merchandise valued at $750.

‰A woman living in the 3700 block of Landsdowne Drive reported Saturday prescription drugs valued at $120 were stolen in a burglary at her residence.

‰Computer equipment valued at $498 was reported stolen Friday in a residential break-in in the 200 block of 35th Street.

Domestic violence

‰Police opened a felony assault case Friday after a man living in the 300 block of Spring Street reported his male partner had attacked him. The extent of the victim’s injuries were not immediately known.

Shoplifting

‰Wal-Mart store security reported Monday merchandise valued at $898 and $89 had been stolen in separate incidents. No one was arrested in either theft.

‰A man and a woman from Ironton were arrested Saturday for allegedly trying to steal items valued at $179.95 from Wal-Mart.

‰A woman from Louisa was arrested Saturday at Wal-Mart for allegedly trying to shoplift merchandise valued at $207.76.

‰An Ashland woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly trying to steal items valued at $196.32 from Wal-Mart.

‰An Ashland man was arrested Friday at Wal-Mart for allegedly attempting to take items valued at $23.97.

‰A Hurricane, W.Va., woman was arrested Friday at Wal-Mart for allegedly trying to steal goods worth $57. Police also charged her with third-degree drug possession after finding Xanax on her.
