RN information session set at OUS
IRONTON - Any LPN interested in becoming an RN can attend an informational session at Ohio University Southern.
Participants will be provided with information on how the program works, application procedures and program requirements.

Chocolate event to help Hope’s Place
ASHLAND - Hope’s Place, the advocacy center for child victims of sexual abuse, will be sponsoring the 12th annual Chocolate Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 27 at the Ashland Town Center.
There will be chocolate vendors selling tastes of chocolate and Easter baskets for sale.
Advance tickets for the chocolate tasting may be purchased by contacting Hope’s Place.
Hope’s Place is seeking chocolate vendors, basket donations and volunteers to assist with the event. If you or your organization can participate, call (606) 325-4737.
Kindergarten registration set
RUSSELL - Kindergarten registration is scheduled for children who will be 5 by Oct. 1. Russell Primary School kindergarten is a full day program with students attending Monday through Friday. Bus transportation is provided.
Registration will be April 6 in the gymnasium at 6 p.m. Parents need to bring the following: Certified birth certificate; Social Security card; physical; immunization certificate; eye exam and dental exam. These items are not needed to register, however, they will be needed before your child may enter school.
Registration will remain open from April 7 to 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the office of RPS.
Hats and Horses exhibit opens
ASHLAND - The Highlands Museum and Discovery Center is opening a new exhibit entitled Hats and Horses today.
The exhibit features three racetracks in Kentucky including Churchill Downs, Keeneland Racetrack and the former Raceland track. Hats accent the exhibit because of their importance in the outfits worn by the women and men to horse races since the Epsom Derby in England since 1771.
The museum is at 1620 Winchester Ave. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is $5.50 for adults and $4.50 for seniors, students and children. Members and children 2 and younger are free.
