Nominees sought for Grayson’s best

GRAYSON — The names of those who are outstanding in their respective occupations and roles within the community are being sought by the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce as the group prepares to recognize individual contributions to the area during the chamber’s upcoming annual meeting.

Nominees are needed for Law Officer of the Year, Firefighter of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Medical Professional of the Year, along with qualified individuals for community service, memorial and leadership awards.

The Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce will present the S.U. Pratt Community Service Award to an individual who has excelled in his or her occupation and accomplishments for the Grayson area.

The R.E. Applegate Memorial is a posthumous recognition of a deceased individual who contributed “in some special way to the life of the community.”

The Keystone of Grayson Award will be presented as the chamber’s “Hall of Fame” honor, recognizing individual efforts to enhance civic,
