Identity of Carter shooting victim released

GRAYSON — Authorities have released the name of a Carter County man found shot to death in his home on Monday.

The body of Calvin D. Fannin, 51, was located in his residence on North Anglin Branch, off Ky. 1 north of Grayson, Kentucky State Police at Ashland said.

Fannin apparently died of gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Carter County Coroner George Sparks.

Fannin’s body was taken to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort, where an autopsy was scheduled to be performed today.

His death is being investigated by Detective Michael Murriell.
