SUMMIT — One man was killed in a two-car accident this afternoon at the junction of U.S. 60 and Summit Road.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim, who was traveling westbound on U.S. 60 in a full-sized white pickup. The truck struck the trailer portion of a tractor trailer that was attempting to turn left onto U.S. 60 from Summit Road.
Witnesses said the tractor trailer driver had the green light, a Boyd County sheriff’s deputy said.
The pickup hit the trailer near the back wheels. The vehicle was wedged beneath the trailer, its roof partially collapsed.
