Rx cards now available at Grayson city building

GRAYSON — The city of Grayson has joined with the Kentucky League of Cities, GLI and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce in the promotion of the Kentucky Rx Card, a discount prescription drug program that is free to all Kentuckians.

The public will be able to pick up the free cards at the city building (located directly across from Rite Aid) during normal hours of operation.) The public may also visit kentuckyrxcard.com to sign up for and print cards for everyone in their family.

The program was launched to help the uninsured and underinsured residents of Kentucky afford their prescription medications. It’s a discount prescription drug program that is free to all Kentuckians. There are no age limits, no income limits, no waiting periods, and no exclusions and it covers any and all pre-existing conditions for people with or without existing insurance.

Cardholders save 20 to 70 percent (with an average of 30 percent) on name brand and generic drugs at nearly 1,000 pharmacies across the state.

The Rx Card program is a national aggregate purchasing and prescription assistance program that is funded through the support of pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies.

For those with insurance or Medicare, this can work for them as well. Because it is not insurance, members would be able to see if they get a better price with their existing insurance or with the card.

For more information about the program log onto www.kentuckyrxcard.com or www.klc.org on the Web.

Participating pharmacies in Grayson are Health Park Pharmacy at 300 Ky. 1947; Horton & Brown Pharmacy at 128 East Main St.; K-Mart Pharmacy at 600 C.W. Stevens Blvd.; Rite Aid Pharmacy at 100 S. Carol Malone Blvd.; and Carter Family Pharmacy. In Olive Hill participating pharmacies are Carter Family Pharmacy at 136 Jessica Lane, and Rite Aid Pharmacy at 410 Tom T. Hall Blvd.
