Ashland — Candidates seeking local and state offices are continuing to file to seek election in 2010.
Candidates could begin filing their official paperwork to seek election next year on Nov. 4. The filing deadline for primary races is 4 p.m. Jan. 26. The 2010 primary will be May 18.
For independent candidates, school board races, some city races and any other race that does not require a primary, candidates must file a statement of candidacy by April 1. Candidates must file their petition for general election ballot access by 4 p.m. Aug. 10.
