Frontier Housing to offer homebuyer education workshops

Morehead — Frontier Housing will offer eHomeAmerica’s online homebuyer education workshops which aim to help future homeowners decide how to choose a house, a lender and a mortgage.

The course was created by a HUD-certified nonprofit organization called Community Ventures Corporation (CVC), a NeighborWorks Chartered Member based in Lexington. CVC and Frontier collaborate as members of the NeighborWorks Alliance of Kentucky.

“Buying a home was the biggest decision I ever made and it will be yours, too,” Chris Robbins, Homebuyer Education Counseling Coordinator for Frontier, said. “eHomeAmerica is so comprehensive and so convenient, I wish it had been around six years ago when I bought my home. It makes the home-buying process so much easier.”

The program was developed around the “Realizing the American Dream” educational text, created by NeighborWorks America. From this content, educational videos were produced along with interactive forms and other downloadable materials. All items in this program are designed to enhance understanding of the home-buying process, from start to finish.

Those interested have two choices for taking the workshops: Online classes are available for a small fee at eHomeAmerica.org or individuals may take the classes at Frontier’s Homeownership Center on the third Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For more information, call Robbins at (606) 784-2131, Ext: 240.

Workshops are held at the office of Frontier Housing, 5445 Flemingsburg Rd, Morehead, KY 40351.

Frontier Housing, at 5445 Flemingsburg Road, is a nonprofit housing organization that has existed in eastern Kentucky for 35 years. The Web site is frontierhousing.org.
