ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
Fleeing, drugs
‰Police charged a man with crack cocaine possession following a traffic stop and foot chase Monday in the 3600 block of Winchester Avenue.
In addition to first-degree drug possession, Charles M. Rainey Jr., 48, of the 3600 block of Winchester, was charged with driving under the influence, second-degree fleeing and evading and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, where he remained on Tuesday.
Robbery
‰An alleged Walmart shoplifter was arrested Monday on a charge of second-degree robbery.
Adam F. Laber, 30, of Pedro, Ohio, was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center following the incident in which he allegedly tried to steal merchandise valued at $73.42 from the store.
Under Kentucky law, a person who uses or threatens to use physical force during the commission of a theft can be charged with robbery.
Burglary
‰A man living in the 900 block of Ashland Avenue reported Monday jewelry and computer equipment valued at $952 were stolen in a burglary at his residence.
‰A man living in the 300 block of Ferry Street on Monday reported an unspecified item valued at $1,006 was stolen in a break-in.
‰A man living in the 2600 block of Newman Street reported Monday someone broke into an outbuilding on his property and stole tools valued at $300.
‰A man living in the 3600 block of Valley Drive on reported Saturday firearms and computer equipment valued at $950 were taken in a burglary at his home.
‰A man living in the 3100 block of Powell Street reported Saturday someone broke into his residence and stole cash, prescription drugs and other items, all valued at $1,751.
Theft
‰A Greenup man reported Monday unspecified items valued at $495 were taken from his car while it was parked at Bruce Apartments.
‰A woman living in the 1900 block of Prospect Avenue on Saturday reported the theft of a lighthouse lawn ornament valued at $65.
‰A woman living in the 1500 block of Chestnut Hill reported Saturday her wallet was stolen from her vehicle.
‰A woman living in the 1300 block of Grandview Drive reported Friday the license plate had been stolen from her car.
