LOUISA — Staff report

LOUISA The Lawrence County Board of Education is expected to announce the name of the new school superintendent during its regular meeting scheduled for Monday evening in Louisa.

“We are interviewing two people tonight,” said Barbara Robinson, chairman of the Lawrence County school board Thursday afternoon before a closed-door meeting with job applicants.

The school board chairman said they expect to make an announcement regarding their choice for a new superintendent during a meeting set to start at 7 p.m. Monday.

The decision follows the retirement of former school superintendent Jeff May, who resigned in October and was replaced by interim superintendent Michael Armstrong, a retired educator.
