Kentucky Music Trail announced

Trace Adkins, Charlie Daniels and Clint Black to perform at Paramount Arts Center this year

ASHLAND — The Paramount Arts Center announced Trace Adkins, the Charlie Daniels Band and Clint Black will perform this year at the theater as part of the Kentucky Music Trail.

Adkins’ show will be April 12; Charlie Daniels Bands’ show will be May 19 and Black’s concert will be June 22. All shows start at 8 p.m.

Trace Adkins

Adkins’ tour, “Trace Adkins’ Songs and Stories,” brings together words and music in sometimes amusing and sometimes powerfully emotional songs that reveal the singer’s earthy beginnings and rich, musical heritage.

The Louisiana native’s 10th studio album, “Proud to Be Here,” includes the hit, "Just Fishin'" and latest single, “Million Dollar View.” He claims 30 charted singles and 15 top 10 hits with total sales surpassing 10 million.

“I've had many narrow escapes and blessings in my life,” Adkins said. “The right song at the right time has been my saving grace and that’s something I have in common with the audience. Sharing meaningful songs, stories and some laughs ‘around the campfire’ is the Country music tradition and I’m looking forward to it.”

Charlie Daniels Band

For more than 50 years, Charlie Daniels has been on stage, performing his fiddle-laced mixture of rock, country, bluegrass, blues and gospel.

Rebel anthems to his credit include “The South’s Gonna Do It Again” and “Long Haired County Boy,” but Daniels may be best known for his hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which earned him a Grammy Award in 1979 and was a crossover success the following year after being included on the soundtrack to “Urban Cowboy.”

His current release is “Land That I love,” a patriotic collection including two new cuts: “Iraq Blues” and “What This World Needs is A Few More Rednecks.”

The 1989 debut of his critically acclaimed fan favorite, the triple-platinum “Killin’ Time,” marked a shift in the industry, with a return to the more traditional sounds of the genre. The album won a wide variety of awards, including Country Music Association Horizon Award, Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year, American Music Awards Favorite New Male Country Artist, Academy of Country Music Best New Male Vocalist, Academy of Country Music Best Male Vocalist, Academy of Country Music Album of the Year and Academy of Country Music Single of the Year (“A Better Man”).
