ASHLAND —
Boyd County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday arrested two whom they say had been dealing heroin out of Bruce Apartments.
One of the suspects, Ramal L. Lee, 18, is from Detroit, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
Lee had been staying at Bruce Apartments with Christina O. Hinkle, 22, and the two of them had been trafficking in heroin, the sheriff’s department said. Deputies obtained a search warrant for Hinkle’s apartment based on a controlled purchase of heroin from the two made by a confidential informant.
The search of the apartment turned up cash and heroin, the sheriff’s department said.
Lee and Hinkle both were lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, each charged with first-degree drug trafficking. Both remained in custody Sunday night, according to the jail’s website. Bond hadn’t been set for either suspect.

Not guilty plea in death of Boyd baby
A Powell County teenager accused in the beating death of an infant pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday.
Brett T. Thompson, 18, of Stanton was arraigned Friday in Boyd County Court.
