Social work ethics program Thursday
Community Hospice will host a Social Work Ethics program from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at its office, 1480 Carter Ave.
This program meets the standards for social work license renewal and provides three hours of continuing education credits.
The Social Work Ethics workshop will address ethical standards as set forth in 201 KAR 23:080 and the Code of Ethics. Through case discussions, lecture and small group activities, participants will discuss ethical decision-making as it relates to the Code of Ethics as well as moral principles and guidelines. Special emphasis will be placed on the issues of confidentiality and boundaries. Participants will review the 201 KAR 23:080 regulation with regard to social work ethics and practice implications will be explored. Each participant will receive a copy of the Code of Ethics.
The program is presented by Blake Jones, MSW, LCSW, Ph.D. with the University of Kentucky College of Social Work. The program is also sponsored by Infusion Solutions and Community Hospice. Registration is available at uksocialworkonline.com. There is a $50 registration fee.
This workshop is approved for continuing education by the Kentucky Board of Social Work, the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board and the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board.

Trunk or Treat at Flatwoods church
Trunk or Treat will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Street Chapel in Flatwoods. There will also be inflatables and hot chocolate. Johnsey Collins is pastor.

Durbin Church of the Nazarene will have a 5K race at 2 p.m. today on U.S. 23. Trunk or Treat will be at 6 p.m. today.
Turkey dinner for FD set
The Women’s Auxiliary of the Little Sandy Volunteer Fire Department will host a fundraising turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Little Sandy fire station on Ky. 1. The cost is $7 for a turkey dinner, with dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert and a drink. Proceeds benefit the LSVFD.
Trunk or Treat at Crum Chapel
Crum Chapel will host Trunk or Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at 4900 Blackburn Ave.
