The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
Burglary
A woman living in the 2000 block of Oakview Drive on Friday reported an XBox 360 gaming console and controller had been stolen in a break-in at her residence.
Theft
A man living in the 2500 block of Montgomery Avenue on Wednesday reported the theft of a two-wheeled dolly from his yard.
Belk in the Ashland Town Center on Wednesday reported a woman had stolen $52.92 cash from the store by means of deception.
Sodomy
A woman living in Hillcrest Apartments reported earlier this month a man had been forcing sexual encounters on her for four months, but she was afraid to report him because she felt no one would believe her due to her mental condition.
Shoplifting
A 30-year-old Ashland man was arrested Thursday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $368.88.
Belk on Thursday reported the theft of merchandise valued at $380.97.
A 31-year-old Ironton woman was arrested Wednesday at J.C. Penney for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $94.
A 31-year-old homeless man was arrested Thursday at Speedway for allegedly attempting to shoplift two cherry pies valued at $1.98.

19-year-old launching one-man food drive, ‘Cans for a Cause’
Never accuse Aaron Hannah of not being ambitious and failing to set high goals for himself.
Later this month, Hannah, a 19-year-old 2012 graduate of Raceland-Worthington High School, will launch what is essentially a one-man food drive. His goal: to collect at least 10,000 pounds of canned food for River Cities Harvest to distribute to local nonprofits and churches that help feed the hungry.
Hannah, who just completed his freshman year as a Bonner Scholar at Berea College, said scholars are encouraged, but not required, to do community projects designed to help the needy. -
Westwood man charged with attempted murder
A Westwood man was arrested on attempted murder charges following an incident Sunday night, according to the Ashland Police Department.
