Worthington —
Two votes separated the sixth- and seventh-place votegetters in Worthington, where all six city council seats were up for grabs.
Former Worthington Mayor Brad McGinnis was elected to the city council on Tuesday and Councilman Forrest “Frosty” Evans, who was appointed to the council in August, lost his bid for a full term.
McGinnis will join incumbents James Cumpton, Glenn Stephenson, Mike Phelps and Jason Flocker on the council. Stephenson was the top votegetter with 490 ballots cast for him, followed by Phelps with 458, Cumpton with 457, McGinnis with 443 and Timothy Mullins with 441.
Evans, who was appointed following the resignation of longtime Councilman Jack Morrison, received 426 votes, finishing just two votes behind Flocker, who had 428 votes.
