Two local women will compete this weekend in the Miss Kentucky Scholarship Pageant 2012.
Miss Ashland Area Taylor Reber of Ashland. She is a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School is competing for the first time at Miss Kentucky.
She will perform a contemporary dance to "Colorblind." Her platform is “Adoption Across Cultures."
She plans to attended Marshall University this fall.
Miss Goldenrod Jessica Casebolt of Pikeville. She is a sophomore at Georgetown College.
Casebolt will perform a vocal presentation of "Superstar," a song made popular by The Carpenters. Her platform is "Heart Health Awareness."
Pageant preliminaries were Thursday and continue today. Finals will be Saturday. The event is at The Singletary Center on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
A total of 31 young women from across the state will compete in a 12-minute private interview, fitness and lifestyle in swimsuit, talent, evening gown and onstage question.
Two of the top 12 semi-finalists will be selected by People’s Choice. Those interested in voting on Peoples' Choice may do so by visiting misskentuckypageant.com. Voters are $1 each. All money goes to the Miss Kentucky Scholarship fund.
