Elliott County 104,

Morgan County 55

SANDY HOOK Elliott County senior Craig Faulkner tallied a season-high 24 points as the Lions blew by Morgan County 104-55 Monday night at Elliott County High School.

Cody Nickell, Timmy Knipp and Jacob Ison all reached double figures in scoring, with Ison leading the trio with 22 points. He also grabbed 17 rebounds.

Knipp scored 21 points and had 12 boards, while Nickell contributed 18 points.

Morgan County (3-10) was led by senior Mikie Fyffe, who had 14 points.

Elliott County (15-5) does not play again until Feb. 2, at home against Ashland.

Morgan County hosts Lewis County Friday.

WESTWOOD Sierra Manier stole the ball at the foul line, drove the length of the court and netted a lay up just as the buzzer sounded to give Fairview a two-point victory over Greenup County in overtime Monday night at Fairview.

Kayla Day led the Lady Eagles (9-5) with 23 points, while Diane Jackson added 19 and Manier chipped in 11.

Ashley Grizzle scored 21, a team-high for Greenup County, but the Lady Musketeers dropped to 4-9.

Fourteen Lady Comets provided point production as West Carter crushed Rose Hill Christian Monday night at home.

Kristin Perry recorded a double-double for West Carter, with 10 points and 10 boards.

Lady Royals’ Alana Martin led all scorers with 15 points.

PAINTSVILLE Raceland ran out to a 38-24 halftime lead but could not sustain it Monday night.

Paintsville, behind Shelby Carroll and Krissy Halm, rallied from the deficit to outscore the Lady Rams 34-15 in the second half and earn the win. Carroll and Halm each supplied 16 points.

Kasey Lewis scored 19 of her 23 points for Raceland in the first half, while Taylor Lacks provided 20 points. Lewis also grabbed 15 rebounds.

Raceland’s record now stands at 10-8.
