Lutz records 360th victory

IRONTON — Ironton coach Bob Lutz achieved milestone victory No. 360 in easy fashion.

The Fighting Tigers routed rival Portsmouth 50-28 Friday night at Tanks Memorial Stadium.

Lutz is tied with Terry Malone, the longtime coach of Hamilton Badin. He’ll try to become Ohio’s winningest coach when Ironton plays host to 7-1 Nelsonville York next week.

Lutz is in his 40th season of coaching and his teams have averaged nine wins per year. He has 340 victories since taking over as Ironton’s head coach in 1972.
