Lawrence County senior guard Taylor Porter scored a school-record 47 points as the Lady Bulldogs thrashed Piarist, 83-32, on Tuesday night.
Porter, a Murray State signee, put up these gaudy numbers: 20-of-31 shooting overall (5-of-9 3-point shooting), 13 rebounds and five assists.
Porter’s point total is believed to eclipse any Lawrence County basketball player, boy or girl, in a single game.
Lawrence County is 15-6.

OLIVE HILL Despite a career-high 37 points by West Carter senior Kyle Brown, Fleming County used a second-half surge to beat the Comets at John “Hop” Brown Court on Tuesday night.
Fleming County (17-4) scored 50 points in the second half to break away from a halftime tie.
Darion Burns led the Panthers with 27 points. Troy Steward had 18 and Austin Crisp 16.
Jacob Layne netted 12 points for West Carter (6-14). Tristan Mitchell grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds.
