IRONTON —
Betty Louise Comer, 83, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, in a local health care center. The Boyd County, Ky., native was born Aug. 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Earl and Goldy Crance Hardy. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack Curtis Comer, who passed away July 11, 2012.
Mrs. Comer attended Boyd County, Ky., schools, was a homemaker and a member of the Campbell Drive Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed country dancing and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Hardy and his wife, Ida Mae Hardy, and Rufus Hardy; one sister, Mattie Parker and her husband, Okie Parker.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Thornton Comer and his wife, Carolyn of Burton, Texas; one brother-in-law, Don Comer and his wife, Wanda, of Coal Grove; and five grandchildren, Scott Comer, Chris Comer, Curtis Comer, Jack Ross Comer and Elisha Comer.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with the Rev. Don Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
