R.C. “Bunk” Dudding - 1936-2012

HIDDENITE, NC — R.C. “Bunk” Dudding, 75, of 1322 Center Church Rd., Hiddenite, N.C., formerly of Ohio, anxiously arrived to his Heavenly Home, Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, in Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Winfield, W.Va. on Nov. 26, 1936, the son of the late Jerome Dudding and Demia Racer Dudding.

He was an electrician lineman IBEW Local 317 in Huntington, W.Va. He was also a member of the American Fox Hunters Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Congress. He was a member of Myrtle Tree Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Dudding Jr.; and a sister, Glenna Bruce.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Brammer Dudding, of the home; four daughters, Pamela Neal Wagner and husband, David of Coal Grove, Ohio, Linda “Musty” McCann and husband, Eugene of Scottown, Ohio, Brenda Blanton of Ironton, Ohio, and Sara Edwards of Hiddenite, N.C.; two sons, William “Billy” Dudding and wife, Crystal of Ravenswood, W.Va., and Robert “Bobby” Dudding and wife, Connie of Ironton, Ohio; a sister, Dreema (Daniel) Chapman of Tampa, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Wayne Neal of Kitts Hill, Ohio, Jason Neal of Hanging Rock, Ohio, William Gayle Dudding of Ashland, Chasity Shea Dudding of Ashland, Shane Chase Blanton of Ironton, Ohio, Shanna Rose McSorley of Ironton, Ohio, Levi William Ellswick, of Ironton, Ohio, Robert Travis Dudding, of Ironton, Ohio, Oliva Grace Edwards and Silas Parker Edwards of Hiddenite, N.C.; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The Rev. Wesley Hammer and the Rev. James Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery.         

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home in Taylorsville, N.C.

In addition to flowers, memorials may be given to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, N.C. 28625.
