Boone Willard Roberts (1932-2009)

Boone Willard Roberts, 76, of South Shore, Ky., died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

He was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Greenup County, Ky., a son of the late Dorsey Roberts and Dovie Williams Roberts.

He was a retired teacher and electrician for CSX Railroad and the Ashland Vocational School. He was a member of Hampshire Enterprise Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Greenup County Wildlife Club, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge 937 of South Shore. He attended Brickunion Gospel Lighthouse.

Surviving are his wife, Adria Pitts Roberts of South Shore; three sons, Stanley Roberts, Donald Lee Roberts and Joseph Bryan Roberts, all of South Shore; two daughters, Christina Collins of Greenup, Ky., and Debbie Allard of South Shore; five brothers, Albert Roberts of Marion, Ohio, Bobby Roberts of St. Paul, Ky., and Conley Roberts, Luther Roberts and Eston Roberts, all of South Shore; two sisters, Anna Lee Roberts of South Shore and Elaree Yates of Marion; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Lewis, Dorsey, Delbert and Harlan Roberts.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore by the Rev. Carl Collier. Burial will be in Brickunion Cemetery in Greenup.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.



Brayden Lee Hill

Brayden Lee Hill, son of Christopher Hoke and Kimberly Hill, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

He was born June 30, 2009.

Additional survivors include maternal grandparents David Hill and Ruth Chapman of Ashland; paternal grandparents Gary and Sandy Hoke; and maternal great-grandmother Virginia Porter of Inez, Ky.

A graveside service was at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Porter Family Cemetery in Inez, Ky., by Elmer Harris.

There was no visitation.

Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville was in charge of arrangements.



Faye Clevenger (1951-2009)

Faye Farmer Clevenger, 57, of Catlettsburg, died Thursday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born Aug. 26, 1951, in Switzer, W.Va.

Her husband, Mike Clevenger, survives.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Russell. Committal will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg is in charge of arrangements.



Elizabeth Bickel

Elizabeth Potter Bickel, 89, of Greenup, died Friday in Wurtland Health Care Center.

Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.



Fred Marcum (1931-2009)

Fred Shannon Marcum, 77, of Grayson, died Thursday at his residence.

He was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Princeton, W.Va.

His wife, Ruby Marcum, died in 2008.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Anne Parnell (1926-2009)

Anne J. Parnell, 82, of Ironton, died Friday in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Ky.

She was born Sept. 7, 1926, in Lawrence County.

Her husband, Jack Parnell, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.

There will be no visitation.

Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton is in charge of arrangements.
