Margaret Blanton 1941-2012

CATLETTSBURG — Margaret V. Preece Blanton, 71, of Catlettsburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Blanton was born March 26, 1941, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Nealy and Willa Copley Preece. Margaret was a loving wife and homemaker, was of the Methodist faith and loved children and dogs.

She is survived by her adoring of husband of 55 years, Ray “Bunk” Blanton; children Terri Bailey of Ashland, Tim Thompson of Catlettsburg, Todd Thompson (Kerrie) of Ashland and Stacy Mitchell (Bryan) of Ashland; a brother, Benny Preece of Catlettsburg; a sister, Mary Ann Thompson (Herbert) of Ashland; grandchildren Britton Blair, Alvin Bailey, Daniell Bailey, Ryan Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Zach Thompson, Jake Thompson, Trey Thompson, Cody Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Hunter Adams and Cameron Mitchell; and sisters-in-law Candace Murphy, Shelia Hale, Marcia Russell, Tanyah Blanton and Trudy James.

Funeral services for Mrs. Blanton will be at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 12, 2012, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Calling hours will be after noon today at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Britton Blair, Alvin Bailey, Tyler Thompson, Zach Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Trey Thompson, Cody Thompson, Hunter Adams and Cameron Mitchell.
