Rosemary Edwards Galiber 1929-2012

FINDLAY, OHIO — Rosemary Edwards Galiber, age 83 years, passed away on Aug. 6, 2012, in Findlay, Ohio. Rosemary was born in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, but lived in Ashland from 1992-1999. She is survived by her children, Rudolph B. Galiber Jr. (Zenovia), Russell Leslie Galiber Sr., both of Trenton, N.J., and Rochelle B. Galiber of Findlay, Ohio, formerly of Ashland. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; a brother; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Rosemary was an educator for more than 30 years. Her career, awards and civic involvement were extensive and included national and local involvement in various conservation, environmental, teacher’s union, academic competitions and Girl Scouting organizations. She also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, OLBH’s Vitality Center and Helping Hands. She was an involved member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Russell.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Ave., Findlay, OH 45840. A celebration of life memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, (prelude music by Pantasia Steel Band) at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1701 Tiffin Ave, Findlay OH 45840. Dessert reception/additional visitation is immediately after the service, until 5 p.m. (postlude music by Pantasia Steel Band). Please join us to honor and celebrate her life.
