Ruby Rush - 1934-2008

Ruby Rush, 73, of Ashland, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at her residence.

She was born April 21, 1934, in Lawrence County, Ky., the daughter of the late Dennis and Rachael Manns Moore.

She was a member of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rush; and a daughter, Arrita Hart.

Survivors include a daughter, Diana Maupin and her husband, Samuel of Ashland; two sisters, Arlene Dale of Paintsville, Ky., and Eddy Kirk of Louisa, Ky.; her best friend, Evelyn Crawford of Ashland; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Rose Hill Mausoleum by Pastor Dale E. Maddy. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the mausoleum.

Betty Fuller - 1936-2008

Betty Mae Nolan Fuller, 72, of Shopes Creek Road, Catlettsburg, passed away early Sunday morning, March 2, 2008, in the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Fuller was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Catlettsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late George and Grethel Newsome Nolan. Her husband of 51 years, William Howard Fuller Sr., preceded her in death in 2007. She was a true homemaker, completely devoted to her family, and a member of Catlettsburg Freewill Baptist Church.

Betty leaves behind three sons, William Fuller Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Catlettsburg, and Robert Fuller and his wife, Lorayne, and Carl Fuller and his wife, Tina, all of Lorain, Ohio; three brothers, Steve Nolan and his wife, Mary of Elyria, Ohio, Robert Nolan and his wife, Joan, of Oberlin, Ohio, and Charlie Nolan and his wife Sharon of Elyria; a sister, Connie Pozega and her husband, Bill of Lorain; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death are a son, Steven Ray Fuller; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Fuller; three sisters, Mary Mills, Loretta Compton, and Irene Childers; and two brothers, Richard Nolan and Johnny Nolan.

A funeral service in honor of Mrs. Betty Fuller will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Words of comfort will be offered by Pastor Roger Branham. Final rest will follow at Catlettsburg Cemetery.

Those wishing to call on the Fuller family may do so between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.



Stella Hurt

Stella Hurt, of Ashland, wife of the late Clovis Hurt, died Sunday in Lexington.

Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.



Brenda Preston

Brenda Sue Preston, 57, of Boons Camp, died Monday at her residence.

Her husband, Doug Preston, survives.

Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.



William “Al” Thompson - 1930-2008

William Allen “Al” Thompson, 77, of Morehead, died Sunday in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born May 29, 1930.

His wife, Aileen Deloris Richards Thompson, survives.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery.

Friends may call before the service at the funeral home.

Robert Edwards

Robert L. Edwards, 55, of Ironton, died Feb. 29 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

His wife, Lisa Lewis Edwards, survives.

Gladys Duzan - 1936-2008

Gladys Duzan, 71, of Portsmouth, died Sunday in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.

She was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Carter County, Ky.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Olive Hill, Ky.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.



Erma McKee - 1932-2008

Erma Lee McKee, 75, of Ironton, died Sunday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

She was born April 30, 1932, in Lecta.

Her husband, Francis A. McKee, survives.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.

There is no visitation.

Freda Wilds - 1925-2008

Freda B. Wilds, 82, of Ironton, died Sunday at her residence.

She was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Ironton.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home in Ironton. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.

Friends may call one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.



Rezhina Skidmore - 1983-2008

Rezhina Mae Skidmore, 24, of Bell, Fla., died Saturday in Shands of the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.

She was born March 21, 1983, in Lapeer, Mich.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wilgus Fairview Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Wilgus Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton and one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
