Sandra Loar Caudill (1946-2009)

Sandra Loar Caudill, 62, of Ashland died Sunday, May 17, 2009, in Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington. Sandra was born Oct. 21, 1946 in Kenova, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clifford M. and Elizabeth Greenslate Loar. She was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Kenova.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Hastings.

Survivors include her husband Melvin Caudill of Ashland; one daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Bryan Conway of Lexington.; two grandchildren, Savanna and Caleb Conway of Lexington; one brother, Clifford Loar of Fort Pierce, Fla., and four sisters Anne Adkins of Ravenswood, W.Va., Eleanor Nickell of Kenova, Billie Atamer and Judy Suthard both of Vero Beach, Fla.

Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va., with the Dr. Rev. Ronnie Mayes and the Dr. Rev. Charles Stewart officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova.

Naomi May Adkins (1928-2009)

Naomi May Adkins, 81, of Ashland, wife of Homer Adkins, died Saturday morning at Wurtland Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Boyd County, a daughter of the late Howard and Jesse Barker McKnight. Naomi was a retired service clerk from the Russell K-Mart Department Store.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Charles ‘Chuck’ Cole in 2008.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, include two stepsons, Steve Adkins and wife Debbie, and Randy Adkins and wife Diane, all of Lexington; one sister, Dorothy Newsome of Lawrence County, Ky.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Stamper.

Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.

Clabert F. Boyle (1929-2009)

Clabert F. “Spud” Boyle, 80, of Worthington died Friday at his home. He was born April 16, 1929, in Logan, W.Va., the son of the late Howard and Lucy Boyle. He was retired as a machinist at Barney Williams and Company in Ashland and he attended Argillite Church of the Nazarene.

He also was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Boyle Jr.; and three sisters, Maxine Qualls, Shirley Barndollar and Vonda Gullett.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, June Boyle; three stepsons, Robert Jack Howard of Argillite, Roger Bowling of Walled Lake, Mich., and Randall W. Bowling of Ashland; two stepdaughters, Dorthy Shock of Tiffin, Ohio and Janice Virgin of Argillite; one brother, Glen Boyle; three sisters, Juanita Gullett, Neva Greathouse and Lucy Runyon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Argillite Church of the Nazarene by minister Lloyd Baldridge.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of the arrangements.



Vickie D. Scott

Vickie D. Scott, 54, of Ashland died Saturday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Arrangements are pending at Steen Funeral Home — Central Avenue Chapel.



Aubrey-Grace Cox (2009)

Infant Aubrey-Grace Cox was born into the hands of the Lord, Friday evening at Kings Daughters Medical Center. She was the daughter of Kevin Cox and Jody Miller of Flatwoods.

Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Dixon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.



Charles P. Weatherford

Charles P. Weatherford, 72, of Grayson died Saturday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at East Carter County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson.



Virgie “Myrtle” Lee Logan (1918-2009)

Virgie “Myrtle” Lee Logan, 91, of Olive Hill died Saturday at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born March 24, 1918, in Lewis County.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery on Rose Ridge in Olive Hill.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today and until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.



Tully Curtis

Tully Curtis, 94, of Flat Gap died Friday.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Red Bush Enterprise Baptist Church.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. at the church.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville is in charge of the arrangements.



Harm Allen Moore (1951-2009)

Harm Allen Moore, 58, of Peach Orchard died Friday at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa.

He was born Feb. 4, 1951, in Lawrence County.

His wife, Helen Laney Moore, survives.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at the Richardson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery at Peach Orchard.

Carl Wayne Conn (1973-2009)

Carl Wayne Conn, 35, of Morehead died Friday at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born Sept. 23, 1973.

His wife, Bobbie Jo Jarvis Conn, survives.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Burial will be in Conn Cemetery in Carter County.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.



Alice W. Lee (1915-2009)

Alice W. Lee, 94, of Vanceburg died Saturday at the Golden Living Center.

She was born May 8, 1915, in Petersville.

Her husband, Ernest James Lee, preceded her in death.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will be in Black Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to the time of the service on Tuesday.



Tommie Howard Erwin (1935-2009)

Tommie Howard Erwin, 74, of Morehead died Saturday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born April 16, 1935.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Burial will be in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Carter County.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.



Olivia Ruth Griggs (2009-2009)

Olivia Ruth Griggs, one day old, of Morehead died Sunday at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

She was born May 16, 2009, the daughter of Tammie Griggs, who survives.

Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Griggs Cemetery in Olympia.
