Joshua Tyler Moore - 1984-2009
Joshua Tyler Moore, 24, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, during surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Lafferty Moore, whom he married May 23, 2007; his father, Dane Moore; his brothers, Jarrod D. Moore and Jordan C. Damron; his grandparents, William and Wiletta Damron; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Brenda Lafferty and Wayne Lafferty, all of Ashland.
Additional survivors include his aunts and uncles, Lynne and Bill Prichard of Winchester, Ky., Brenda Frye of Rush, Ky., Marc and Phyllis Moore of Ashland, John and Kathy Moore of Ashland, Walta Kay and Darrell Bowen of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Greg and Jennifer Moore of Ashland; great-aunts and great-uncles Dale and Janet Hunt of Georgetown, Ky., Dorothy Hunt of Little River, S.C., and Paul Prince of Ashland; and a host of cousins.
Josh was preceded in death by his mother, Lori LeMaster Moore, in 1998; an uncle, Chris Damron; his grandfather, Walter Moore; grandmother Betty Moore Hutchinson; his great-grandmother, Thelma Hunt; his great-grandfather, Chester Hunt; a cousin, Kelly Yates; a very special great-aunt, Judy Hunt Prince; and a special great-uncle, Arnold Hunt.
Joshua graduated from Catlettsburg Christian Academy and was baptized and became a member of Unity Baptist Church in 1993. He loved music and playing the guitar. He had a sweet protective and humbling nature and was loved by everyone who met him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Dale Henson. Burial will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be after noon today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his brothers, Jarrod Moore and Jordan Damron, his cousins, Christopher Muncy, Kevin Yates and Tristen Kinnard and special friends Drew Knuckles, Andy Burton and Mike Moore.

Laura Mildred Horton Fowler - 1919-2009
Laura Mildred Horton Fowler, 89, of Newburgh, Ind., formerly of Ashland, Ky., died May 20, 2009, in Newburgh.
She was born May 22, 1919, in Elliott County, Ky., a daughter of the late William C. and Beadie Susan Mobley Horton.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, William T. Horton, and his wife, Ruth Ross Horton.
She was a bookkeeper for 35 years for Emory Gillum Wholesale Meats, was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland and a graduate of Ashland High School.
Surviving are a daughter, Billie Sue Custer and husband Stephen W. of Newburgh; grandchild Stephen Warren Custer II and his wife Kristal of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and great-grandchildren Stephen Christopher Custer and Cassie Jo Custer.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Stephen Custer. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Beverly Ann Hamilton Ashcraft - 1958-2009
Beverly Ann Hamilton Ashcraft, 51, of Greenup County, Ky., died May 18, 2009, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was born Feb. 1, 1958, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late William J. and Betty Lou Turley Hamilton.
She was also preceded in death by brothers Jimmy and Jeff Hamilton and a niece, Christinia Hamilton Morrison.
She was a homemaker and attended Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Stanley Ashcraft of Oldtown; stepdaughters Dusti (Randal) Lewis of Wurtland, Ky., and Leigha (Chris) Stone of Ashland, Ky.; sister Teresa Brown (Greg Moore) of Oldtown; grandchildren Amber and Hannah Lewis; several very close and special nieces and nephews, Rose Conley, Greg Boggs, Jamie and John Stake, Billy Hamilton, Aaron and April Brown and Amanda Brown; and great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved and cared for as her own, Derick Conley, Natalee and Casey Boggs, Montana Stake and Shelby and Remi Brown.
The funeral will be at noon today, May 22 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Pastor John Lybrook and Bobby Carpenter. Burial will be in Hamilton Brown Cemetery in Oldtown.

George Workman, 59, of Louisa, died Wednesday in Louisa.
He was born June 16, 1949, in Louisa.
His wife, Bonita Ann Brown Workman, survives.
