Richard Kiser (1924-2009)
Richard Kiser, 85, of Carter County, died Saturday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland following a long illness. He was born April 18, 1924, in Grahn, a son of the late Herb and Lula Crank Kiser. He was a farmer.
He also was preceded by a daughter Patricia Diane Kiser; three sisters, Alene Fraley, Olive James and Gladys Gilliam.
Survivors include two daughters; Sharon and husband, John D. Wilburn, and Shelia and husband, David Hill, both of Ashland; one son Phillip Gary and wife, Digna Kiser, of Jamestown, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Tom James of Olive Hill; one brother Harlan and wife, Garnett, Kiser of Mansfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jill Kiser Roeth and Phillip Dale Kiser both of Dayton, Ohio, Jeffery Kiser of Springboro, Ohio, Dawn Potter of Dayton, Brandon Hill of Ashland, Johna Vertrees of Elizabethtown and Greg Wilburn of Louisville.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Kiser Family Cemetery on Kiser Branch in Grahn, by Minister Tom James.
Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.

Mary Pauline Hurtt (1953-2009)
Mary Pauline Hurtt, 55, of Sandy Hook passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, in the Morgan County Area Regional Hospital in West Liberty. She was born Sept. 7, 1953, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Richard and Inez Thorn Reedy. She was the wife of Terry Hurtt, who survives. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Ray West Jr.; a sister Teri Cole; and two brothers, Richard Reedy and Donald Reedy.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four children, Robert West of Sandy Hook, Michelle Banks of Carlisle, Ohio, Trish Barnett of Summerville, Ohio, and Ashley West Bumgardner of Sandy Hook; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Reedy of Germantown, Ohio, and Randy Reedy of Middletown; and two sisters, Shari McGlothen and Candi Cornett both of Middletown.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, with Brother Warren Vanover officiating. Burial will be in the Sandy Hook Cemetery.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lois Day, 78, of Ashland, died Sunday in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Robert Daniel (1932-2009)
Robert “Bob” Neil Daniel, 77, of Ashland, died Sunday in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born May 5, 1932, in Johnson County.
His wife, Charlotte Davis Daniel, survives.
Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland, with the Rev. Harold Dixon and Pastor Richard Suman officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Ralph Walter Burke (1963-2009)
Ralph Walter “Mater” Burke, 45, of Ironton, died Friday in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Dec. 28, 1963.
His wife, Tammie Jo Coburn Burke, survives.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Wheelersburg.

She was born March 6, 1907.
