Evelyn Louise Parsons Holbrook 1942-2012

OLIVE HILL — Mrs. Evelyn Louise Parsons Holbrook, age 69, of Olive Hill, went home to be with her Lord Friday evening, Oct. 19, 2012, in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

She was born Dec. 28, 1942, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Burley Minor and Ruby King Parsons.

Evelyn was a member of the Globe Christian Holiness Church since 1963 and attended the Olive Hill Wesleyan Church, always supporting Clyde in his ministry. She retired from the Carter County School System with 21 years of service. Evelyn loved living each and every day to the fullest and spending time with her family, especially her loving son and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Burley Minor Parsons Jr., Harold Glendle Parsons and Clarence Parsons; and one sister, Virginia Bond.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 49 years, eight months, 17 days, Clyde W. Holbrook; one son, Clyde David Holbrook of Olive Hill; two sisters and a brother-in-law; Wilma and Wade Thornsberry of Ashland, and Vivian Mullins of Little Rock, Ark. She also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with her husband, Brother Clyde Holbrook and Brother Allen Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, and until the service hour at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Chase Tyler Thornsberry and the staff of Globe Funeral Chapel will serve as honorary pallbearers.
