ASHLAND —
Betty J. Lewis, 83, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Betty was born July 12, 1929, to the late Newton and Laura Spillman-Kimbler. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren Lewis; two sisters; and three brothers.
Betty attended Lewis County schools, and owned and operated her own beauty shop in the late 1960s called Betty Beauty Shop in Russell. Betty was a beautician and homemaker and enjoyed her family and friends, but most of all she loved to spend time with her children and grandchild. Mrs. Lewis attended Unity Square Bible Group, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by two children, Alton Lewis and his wife, Sammie, of Greenup and Pamela Fleu and her husband, Donald, of Ashland; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time. Burial will take place at Bushnell Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla., at a later date.
Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements.
