WESTWOOD —
Alice Evans McKnight, 89, of Westwood, passed away Monday afternoon in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland.
She was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Tom and Lillie Jackson Evans.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leroy McKnight; a daughter, Donna Kay McKnight; two sons-in-law, Ron Martin and Ron Evans; and five brothers.
Alice attended Cane Creek Freewill Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted homemaker.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Cecil McKnight and wife Billie of Ashland and Charles McKnight and wife Sherry of Rush; five daughters, Patricia Godbey and husband Robert of Huntington, W.Va., Loretta Wheeldon of Indianapolis, Ind., Joan Burke and husband Michael of Ashland, Hazel Martin Yates and husband Paul of Rush and Rebekah Evans Ferguson and husband Allen of Rush. Additional survivors include a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Bill Smith and Dr. Dale Maddy. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
