Betty Whitt Dixon 1933-2012

ASHLAND — Betty Marie Joyce Whitt Dixon, 79, loving wife, mother and grandmother, entered into the presence of her Lord in the eternal joy of heaven on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.

She is survived by her caring and devoted husband of 63 years, Amos L. Dixon Sr., whom she faithfully served alongside at Rose Road Chapel for 36 years.

Betty was born Jan. 10, 1933, a daughter of the late C.D. and Sarah Hilah Whitt.  

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her four children, Amos Dixon Jr. and wife Paula of Coal Grove, Ohio, Phillip Dixon and wife Regina of Westwood, Marilyn and husband Charles Simpson of Ashland and Brenda Dixon of Westwood; four grandchildren, Jason (Janel) Dixon of Ridgeland, S.C., Keith (Jamie) Dixon of Catlettsburg, Nicole (Jarrod) Yates of Ashland and Rachel Dixon of Westwood; and nine great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kirk, Taylor, Jadyn, PJ, Grace Anna, Maddison, Monty and Gunner. Also surviving are a sister, Bernice Dixon of Westwood; a brother, Talmadge Whitt of Rush; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Robinson of Frankfort.

She will be greatly missed by a host of family, friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Leroy Dixon. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
