CATLETTSBURG —
Carl L. Arthur, 70, of Catlettsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 16, 1942, in Boyd County, a son of the late Richard Arthur and Marjorie Rahman Arthur. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Clark Arthur, on April 8, 2009; and three brothers, Tom Arthur, Charlie Arthur and Ronnie Arthur.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired carpenter with CSX and member of Burnaugh Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Teresa) Arthur of Catlettsburg, Carl David (Carman) Arthur of Columbus, Ohio, and Darryl Lee (Abigail) Arthur of Ashland; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Richard Arthur of Ashland, Gary Arthur of Ashland, Don Arthur of Ashland, Ken Arthur of Summit and Jerry Arthur of Flatwoods; and a sister, Dottie Salyers of Catlettsburg.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 12, 2012, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by Pastor Mike Blankenship. Burial will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery, with military rites by the Ceredo-Kenova American Legion post.
