Matthew L. “Matt” Blevins - 1962-2010

Matthew L. “Matt” Blevins, 47, of Russell, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 7, 2010, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Mr. Blevins was born March 11, 1962, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Tom Blevins of Culp Creek, Ky., and the late Garnet Gibson Blevins.

He was a self-employed plumber and a member of the Bluegrass Vanners. Matt loved fishing, hunting, music, his family and friends.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Renea Clevinger Blevins; two daughters, Leah Haney of Flatwoods, Ky., and Wendy Blevins of Wurtland, Ky.; a son, Jaden Blevins of Catlettsburg, Ky.; two sisters, Angela Robles of Flatwoods, Ky., and Joyce Tackett of Westwood, Ky.; a brother, Tom Blevins of Culp Creek; three grandchildren, Rhiannon Gullett, Blake Morris and Bryce Shields; and his special friend and caregiver, Angie Skaggs of Catlettsburg.

Visitation will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. today, March 9, 2010, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Ky. A graveside service will be at 6 p.m. today at Caroline Cemetery in Raceland.

Jennie May Griffith, 84, of Blaine, died Sunday in J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa.

She was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio.

Her husband, Joseph Turner Griffith, preceded her in death.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Old Path Baptist Church in Blaine. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in Blaine.

She was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Laurel.
