Chloe Jean Madden Butler 1941-2012

CARTER — Mrs. Chloe Jean Madden Butler, age 71, of St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 11, 2012, in St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Fla.

She was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Cleff and Laura Jane Jones Madden.

Jean was a member of the Ocean Street Church of God in St. Cloud and was a homemaker. She was a former employee of the hospital in Gary, Ind., when she and her husband, Bobby, lived.  Jean also worked in the St. Cloud-Kissimmee School System. She enjoyed going to church, singing, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Fred E. Madden; and one sister, Diana Kaye Madden.

Jean is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert “Bobby” Butler of St. Cloud; their son and daughter-in-law, Les A. and Beverly Butler of Smyrna, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Matthew Allen Butler and Amber Dawn Butler, both of Smyrna, Tenn.; and seven sisters and four brothers-in-law, Geraldine Bradley of Grayson, Corrine Bauman of St. Cloud, Jeanette and Leon Tabor, Francis Louise Gorman, Lois Ann and Tom Vestal, and Linda Sue and Wilbur Cross, all of New Castle, Ind.,and Betty Jo and Bill Chace of St. Cloud, Fla. Jean also leaves many other family members, church family, neighbors, and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Don Painter and Brother Les Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, and until the service hour at 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral chapel, 17277 West U.S. Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
