CARTER —
Carter County Magistrate Mr. Ronnie Edward Greenhill, 69, of E-K Road, Grayson, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 13, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Carter County, a son of the late Irene Fultz Greenhill and Thurman Greenhill.
Ronnie was a member of Freedom Baptist Church of Grayson, where he served as treasurer and assistant Sunday school superintendent. He was a magistrate of District 3 for the Carter County Fiscal Court and was chairman of the board at Northeast Kentucky Community Action Agency Inc. in Olive Hill. Ronnie was a member of Willard Masonic Lodge 626, where he served as chaplain. He was a member of the El Hasa and Carter County Shrine clubs. He delivered Meals on Wheels.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ellen Dickison Greenhill; a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Edward and Rebecca Bush Greenhill of Grayson; a daughter, Rene Dickison Clay of Grayson; and six grandchildren whom he loved and was very proud of, Seth, Bryana and Shawn Greenhill and Mark, Lauren and Tyler Clay, all of Grayson. He is also survived by a sister, Patty Frazier of Olive Hill; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Shirley Greenhill and Greg and Ann Greenhill, all of Olive Hill; a sister-in-law, Shelia Pennington and her husband, John, of Grayson; a brother-in-law, Roger Dickison and his wife, Annie, of Flatwoods; and nieces and nephews Neil Frazier, Gary Dale Greenhill, Penny Maggard, Robin Greenhill, Jeniffer Meade, Tyler Greenhill, Trey Greenhill, Melissa Hamilton, Rebecca Copeland, Dee Dee Poynter and Michelle Betke. Ronnie also leaves many other family members, church family, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Freedom Baptist Church, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, by Pastor Lyle McMicken and Brother Tim Porter. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson.
Friends may visit from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 15, 2012, and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. today by Willard Masonic Lodge 626.
Ricky Bear, Joe Savage, Richard Isaacs, David Greenhill, Frank Burton, John Withrow, Jim Scott and David Hayes will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Freedom Baptist Church, Willard Masonic Lodge, the Northeast board and Carter County Fiscal Court, Bill Buck Waggoner and Corkey Clevenger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Meals on Wheels of Grayson or Freedom Baptist Church, P.O. Box 189, Grayson, KY 41143.
