Brace Taylor Stai, DDS - 1969-2011

ASHLAND — Brace Taylor Stai, DDS, 41, of Ashland, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, 2011, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born April 18, 1969, in Pikeville, a son of Richard Taylor and Sharon Renee Helgeson Stai of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Taylor Stai.

He was a dentist and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, BPO Elks Lodge 350, the Kentucky Dental Association and Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.

Brace was a graduate of Boyd County High School, Georgetown College and the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Todd J. Stai, and companion Rhonda Cisco of Ashland; nephews Trey Nicholas Stai and Marshall Taylor Stai; Brace’s companion, Emma Wells of Ashland; and maternal grandmother Gladys Helgeson of Roseau, Minn.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1320 Bath Ave., Ashland by Pastor Mark Kloha. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1320 Bath Ave., Ashland, KY 41102 or Kentucky Organ Donors Affiliates, att: director of administration services, 106 E. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40202.
