Jewell Maxine Conley Watts 1927-2013

GREENUP — Jewell Maxine Conley Watts, 85, of Flatwoods, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Oakmont Manor in Flatwooods.

She was born to the late Everett Lee and Nancy L. Macintosh Conley on July 4, 1927, in English, W.Va.

Jewell graduated from the Magoffin Baptist Institute in 1947 and went on to study nursing at the University of Kentucky, Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and was very dedicated to her family and Greenup First Baptist Church. Jewell was the epitome of Proverbs 31:10 – “Her value is far more than that of rubies”.

Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence Watts; sister, Mayota Rizer; and brothers, Billy Don Conley, John Conley, and Clyde Calvin Conley.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Lois (Donald) Mocabee of Flatwoods, and Linda (Dennis Perry) Watts of Elizabethtown; brothers, Roy (Margie) Conley of New Lebanon, Ohio, Tom (Rae) Conley of Marion, Ohio, and Ted Conley of Shipshewanna, Ind.; grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Brogan of Flatwoods, Sherri (Jeffrey) Price of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Julie Mocabee of Lithopolis, Ohio, and Jeffrey Mocabee of Flatwoods; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Bailey Family Funeral Home in Greenup officiated by Minister Jon Stidham.

Friends may call at noon on Monday.
