Harold Ray Fannin - 1933-2013

RUSH — Harold Ray Fannin, 79, of Rush, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mr. Fannin was born June 10, 1933, on Williams Creek in Carter County, to the late Magel Marshall Lucas and the late Hildred Fannin and his late stepfather, Charles Lucas.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Fannin.

Harold was a coal truck driver for 25 years. He loved woodwork, puzzles and family and was known for carrying a salt shaker in his pocket. He was a member of Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church. He was a kind, fun, loving, easygoing man.

Left behind to cherish Harold’s memory are his wife of 52 years, Gracie Fannin; a son, Harold Edgar “Eddie” Fannin and his wife, Connie Sue, of Rush; daughters, Mary Katherine Miller and her husband, Tony Randall, of Denton and Nancy Sue White and her husband, James Delmar Jr., of Rush; five grandchildren, Angie Tackett (Bobby), JamesRay White (Carolyn), Dawnielle Mae Fannin (Jacob), Kyle Fannin and Jeffery Fannin; an “adopted” grandson, Kevin Moore (Dianna); six great-grandchildren, Alissa Lawson, Kimberly Lawson, Amanda Lawson, Landon James Yates, Colten White and Bethany Fraley; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Dylan and Destiney Tackett, Gabby Burchett and Trista “Tiny” Cantrell; brother, Charles Clifford Lucas of Grayson; sisters, Fannie Mae Peterman of Catlettsburg and Patty Ramey of Rush; sisters-in-law, Helen Fannin and Laura “Peachie” Lucas, both of Rush; stepmother, Edna; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Fannin will be at 1 p.m. Friday Jan. 25, 2013, at Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church on Ky. 3 in Rush. Pastor Keith Crum will offer a message of comfort. Final rest will be in Fannin Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg.

Casket bearers will be Rick Bowling, JamesRay White, Kevin Moore, James Rogers, Bobby Tackett and Jacob Fannin.
