Mabel Cochran Boyles - 1927-2013

WURTLAND — Mabel Cochran Boyles, 85, of Wurtland, departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born Feb. 8, 1927, to the late James and Mary Wurts Chinn Cochran.  

She resided her entire life in Wurtland. She was married on April 14, 1951, to James Russell Boyles, who preceded her in death.

She became a member of Wurtland Union Church on Sept. 19, 1976, where she served as secretary, treasurer and pianist. She was a former legal secretary and court stenographer for the Greenup County Clerk’s Office. She retired from First and Peoples Bank and Trust Co. as an assistant vice president after 42 years of service.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Elnora Scott, Maude Enyart, Hope Moore and Anna Hayes, and a brother, James Cochran.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved. She especially loved and was tenderly and lovingly cared for by a special niece and nephew, Janice and Herman Scott of Wurtland, and a special cousin, Dorothy Bays of Wurtland.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, by Minister Bob Hayes at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 28, 2013, at the funeral home.
