GRAYSON —
Roy Thomas Carter Jr., 73, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Grayson, a son of the late Roy Thomas and Lucille Riley Carter Sr.
Roy was also preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Carter.
He was retired from the Carter County Road Department, was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Grayson Assembly of God Church.
His survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Burchett Carter of Grayson; a son, Roy A. “Tony” Carter of Grayson; a daughter, Gina (Jeff) Kitchen of Grayson; two brothers, Lawrence Carter of Ashland and Richard “Dick” (Beverly) Carter of Grayson; and two grandchildren, Alex Kitchen and Alyssa Kitchen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Kyle Burchett and Roger Nolty. Burial will be in Carter Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
