FLATWOODS —
Sue Clark, 77, of Flatwoods, passed away peacefully on Feb. 9, 2013, at Trinity Station in Flatwoods under the care of Community Hospice.
She was born June 28, 1935, in Carlisle, Pa., to the late Harry C. and Nita M. Beck of Elizabethtown, Pa.
She graduated from Elizabethtown High School in 1953, where she played field hockey and was also a cheerleader. Sue served three years in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. She was a devoted and loving wife and homemaker as well as raising three sons. She loved to travel with her husband, Russ, any time they had the chance. Some of her hobbies were painting, flower gardening and reading. She was also an avid fan of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and a fan of all sports.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Russell E. Clark Jr.; a brother, Harry Beck; and a baby sister, Mary Jane.
She is survived by her three sons, Rusty (Molly) Clark of Ashland, Tim (Cindy) of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Ron (Barbara) Clark of Ashland; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald (Jean) Beck of Elizabethtown, Pa.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with words of comfort by Jack Edwards. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call two hours before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Sue’s name be sent to Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
