ASHLAND —
William L. Busby, 82, of Ashland, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Busby was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Madison, Wis., a son of the late William H. and Bertha I. Anderson Busby.
He was a career veteran who served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, earning the rank of staff sergeant by his retirement. He later retired as building superintendent at Star Pass Vacation Resort in Tucson, Ariz. He was a member of Rush Lodge 715, F&AM.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Busby, and a great-grandson, Zander Guehrer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anderson Busby; eight children, William L. (Sheri) Busby Jr. of Ohio, Roger Busby of Oklahoma, Patrick (Sylvia) Busby of Iowa, Linda (Marilyn) Busby of Nebraska, Jhonda Anderson and Sherry Lomelo of Ashland, Carla Anderson and Tony Anderson of Arizona; and a brother, Daune Busby of Iowa.
He will be honored at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at a Masonic service by Rush Lodge 715, F&AM. Military graveside rites will be by the U.S. Air Force Funeral Honor Unit at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, with burial to follow.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
Arrangements are under the care of Lazear Funeral Home.
