FLATWOODS —
Mildred Sue Thomas-Withrow, 80, of Flatwoods, passed from this Earthly life at her residence on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
She was born March 18, 1932, in Ashland, to the late William and Mildred Duncan-Thomas.
Mildred was a 1950 graduate of Prichard Schools in Carter County and was a homemaker. She attended Shawnee Church of God in Flatwoods, where she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society.
Mrs. Withrow was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Withrow, in 1998, and a brother, Lloyd Thomas.
Mildred leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly, including her loving children, Robin Racicot of Pasadena, Texas, Duncan Withrow of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Withrow of Ona, W.Va., Dawn Simmons of Columbus, Ohio, and April Withrow of Flatwoods; a brother, Bill Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Frances Simmons of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Shawnee Church of God, 1303 Beth Ann Drive, Flatwoods, with words of comfort by Pastor Jim Stamper. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 24, 2012, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
