OLDTOWN —
Bethel May Bays, 92, of Oldtown, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Oldtown.
Bethel was born in Greenup County on Dec. 12, 1919, a daughter to the late Stephen Harrison & Minnie Florence Stapleton Brown.
She was a member of Oldtown Christian Church, the Dorcas Circle and the Warnock and Oldtown Homemakers.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Bays, in 2010; two brothers, Cleo Brown and Belva Brown; and a sister, Edna Queen.
She is survived by two sons, John Paul Bays and his wife, Nancy, of Lloyd and Carlos Michael Bays and his wife, Regina, of Pedro Ohio; four daughters, Nora Louise Grubb and her husband, Don, of Oldtown, Flora Ellen “Flo” Meadows of Greenup, Barbara Faye VanGordon and her husband, Steven, of Oldtown and Violet Carolyn Worley and her husband, Ray, of Clarksville Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 5, 2012, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Ronnie Sisk. Burial will be in William S. Bays Cemetery in Oldtown.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
