Georgia Fay May 1930-2012

GREENUP — Georgia Fay May, 82, of Culp Creek, Argillite, passed away at her home surrounded by her family and her beloved dog, Oscar.

She was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Argillite, a daughter of the late Albert and Cora Nelson Webb. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis T. “Bud” May; son, Richard May; brother, Orville “Bus” Webb and sister, Mary Tackett.

Georgia was a cook at Argillite Elementary School for 44 years. She enjoyed every minute of her time at the school and regretted when illness led to her retirement. Her favorite pasttimes included cooking, crocheting, taking walks with her dog and working around her home. She enjoyed the simple things during her life and was happiest when sitting down for a meal surrounded by her family and reminiscing about the “good old days.”

Surviving her are two sons and their wives, Dennis and Connie May of Argillite and Thomas and Patricia May of Lexington; six grandchildren, Tomica, Kendra, Amanda, Denise, Ricky and Chad; nine great-grandchildren, Nicole, Derian, Vanessa, Michael, Tristan, Trenton, Owen, Savanna and Alyssa; a daughter-in-law, Paula May of Westwood; and a niece, Wanda Stepp.

She will be greatly missed by her family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. Edward Johnson. Burial will be in Pennsylvania Cemetery at Culp Creek in Argillite.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
