ASHLAND —
Larry Stidham, 86, of Ashland, passed away on July 27, 2012 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born on June 20, 1926, in Carter County, to the late Roy and Nettie Mullins Stidham.
Larry was the owner and operator of Stidham Body Shop and was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Fred M. Gross Lodge #953 F & AM and the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Beech Street Christian Church where he was very involved.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Harriett Donta Stidham; two sons, Jerry Stidham and wife Dessie and Gary Stidham and wife Carol, both of Ashland; a sister, Mary Lou Holmes of Bellefonte; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland officiated by Minister Ken Vaughn, the Rev. Mike Rice and the Rev. Dale Maddy. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods with military rites by American Legion Post #93 of Kenova.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.
