GRAYSON —
Lula Maxine Romans, 87, of Grayson, passed away Thursday July 26, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born May 19, 1925, in Hitchins, the daughter of the late Everett Swinford and Annie Tackett Swinford.
Lula was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church and the Purple Hearts Club. She was a homemaker and caretaker for the elderly all of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ercel Romans; several brothers and sisters; and two daughters, Patricia McDowell and Delora Faye Romans.
She is survived by four sons, Gary (Sue) Romans of Radcliff, James (Betty) Romans of Bellville, Ohio, Mike Romans of Columbus, Ohio, and Clyde (Leana) Romans of Hitchins; one daughter, Maxine (Danny) Davis of Grayson; two sisters, Cletis Hensley of Grayson and Joann Barker of Paintsville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Micky King and Larry Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview-McGuire Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, July 28, and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
