FLATWOODS —
Delbert Cleo “DC” Chambers, 84, of Flatwoods, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, and is now at home with his Lord and Savior.
DC was born in March 14, 1928, in Lynnville, to the late Ruble Huston and Lela May Holmes-Chambers.
Mr. Chambers was a retired minister at First Pentecostal Church of Christ in Flatwoods having served that church for more than 30 years and attended the Wurtland Church of God following his retirement. He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII as a nurse tech.
Delbert leaves behind his beautiful wife of 58 years, Mary Sue Stalls-Chambers of Flatwoods; one son, Dennis C. Chambers and his wife Carol of Flatwoods; one granddaughter, Charis Ann Chambers; one aunt, Volena Boyd of Lynnville; four sisters-in-law and their husbands, Betty and Toy Ross of Benton, Patricia Balentine and Shirley and Don Hart, all of Murray, and Nancy and Jess Farmer of Houston, Texas; three very special caregivers that were like family, Vickie Daniels, Arbustus Kazee and Faye Stringham as well as a life time of friends all of whom meant the world to him.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at First Pentecostal Church of Christ, 1110 Bellefonte Road, Flatwoods. Words of comfort will be delivered by Pastors Henry Montgomery, James Rayburn and Shane Cox. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at the church.
