ASHLAND —
Paul Edward “Nick” Nichols, 77, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 25, 1935, in Greenup County, the son of the late Clarence E. and Ruth Fugate Nichols.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, a member of the Old Orchard Christian Church, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a former member of the National Guard.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Paula Kay Nichols.
He is survived by a son, Jeff Nichols and his wife Susan, of Greenup; a sister, Ginger Chattin of Sarasota, Fla.; an aunt, Lou Ann Clark of Pasadena, Md.; a granddaughter, Amber Nicole Turner and her husband, Jason of Jonesboro, Ark.; a great-grandson, Carter Joseph Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Bill Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland with military graveside services by Kenova American Legion Post 93.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
